Description :
Oregano (Scientific name Origanum Vulgare Hirtum – Greek Oregano) is an aromatic herbaceous, perennial, indigenous and shrubby plant 20-80 cm high and considered one of the best in the world. The flowers are white-purple in color and bloom from June to August depending on the area.

Mythology & History:
The word oregano means “mountain ornament” and comes from the words “mountain” (mountain) and “ganos”, which means “beauty” because of its beautiful pink and purple flowers.
Oregano was used in herbal medicine even by the ancient Greeks. They used it as a decoction to cure belly spasms and poisonings. Dioscurides considered oregano to be one of the best medicines and recommended it to those who had lost their appetite.
Traditional Medicine:
The oregano decoction is astringent, slightly bitter and therefore traditionally used in cases of diarrhea.
It has expectorant properties, soothes cough and is used against respiratory diseases. It is considered an excellent anti fungal.
Preparation
Add 1 tablespoon of dried oregano to a bowl. Fill the mug with boiling water.
